"I am From" Poem

LYRICS:

I am from Pokémon cards, walkie-talkies, and my pale blue bike with a ring attached just so I can press it and be heard. I am from playing coolmathgames.com on my school computer, from designing myself on Sims and wondering why my life's not a movie. I'm from the 4th-generation iPod touch, from watching pets do silly things on YouTube, from playing Just Dance as a form of exercise. I am from "put away that damn phone!" and "call me maybe." From Cancel Culture and hours spent scrolling scrolling scrolling my for you page. I am from selecting a DVD from the Redbox down at the Walgreens, from staying up late for the new Walking Dead season episode to come out, from listening to the High School Musical soundtrack on my boombox stereo. I am from people; Netflix watch parties that never last long enough and going to the drive-in just for something "different." I am from building forts in the living room with my brother and watching the original Spiderman on our portable DVD player. I am from Twitter and Instagram and any other social media app that kills my attention span, from creating a house in Minecraft I'll never live in, from the Zoomers who are sick of Zooming. I am from the tech age of consumers who want nothing but to consume. I am from a world who wants you to accept all the cookies, to like and follow and retweet and scroll scroll scroll.
